These shrimp are an orange mutation of our Supershrimp discovered and exclusively bred by Petshrimp! We have been working on this strain for a few years already and have established a true breeding colony. As with the red Supershrimp, there will be quite some individual variation in coloration with some shrimp more intensely colored than others. Also, most likely your shrimp will arrive colorless or very faded out due to shipping. The shrimp will regain their coloration over days, weeks, or months depending on how mature your tank is and how well they feel. We recommend getting 10 to start a colony, but if that is not within your budget, you can get a few only and keep them with the red Supershrimp. When these varieties interbreed, there should be orange offspring in the second generation. Here’s a short video of them in one of our tanks:

Best kept at around half ocean salinity (exact measurements are not important), this shrimp lives and thrives in 1-3 gallon sized aquaria that do not need any water changes (ever) and infrequent feeding (once every two to 4 weeks). Just top off evaporated water with reverse osmosis or destilled water..

*THESE ARE THE ONLY CAPTIVE BRED OPAE ULA (Halocaridina rubra) FOR SALE (in commercial quantities) IN THE WORLD!* All other shrimp offered for sale anywhere else are either taken from endangered habitats in the wild or come from natural and artificial pools that are populated by shrimp from natural habitats through underground connections (even if the owners of such pools claim that they are “aquaculturing” these shrimp).

Black Basalt Rocks (hand picked and rinsed) https://www.cerasumat.com/product/black-basalt-rocks-hand-picked-and-rinsed/ Fri, 10 Jan 2020 04:55:31 +0000 https://www.cerasumat.com/?post_type=product&p=20806 (Price is *per rock*.” See description below.)

These rocks are safe, rinsed, and ready to go into your tank! Black basalt rock looks great in Supershrimp tanks as a center piece or stacked on top of each other to form small caves and nooks and crannies. Use the drop down menu above to pick the size you like. You will receive a rock that’s approximately the size of the rocks in the picture for the size you choose. All items are hand-picked and unique. We currently offer two different sizes: extra large, and large. See picture for approximate sizes. The rocks in the picture show approximate sizes and shape variations. The (rare) extra large rock is in the front. Very few of those are currently in stock. All other rocks are “large”.

Keep in mind that the pictures were taken when the rocks were wet to give you an idea what the rocks will look like under water. When the rocks arrive they may be dry and the black not as dark as when wet. That’s normal and the rocks will look exactly as pictured when exposed to water.

Supershrimp Telescoping Net https://www.cerasumat.com/product/supershrimp-net/ Wed, 09 Jan 2019 07:35:22 +0000 https://www.cerasumat.com/?post_type=product&p=7119 Net head: 5 x 4cm / 2 x 1.6 inches

Net length: 19 – 55cm / 7.5 – 21.7 inches (telescoping handle)

If you need to transfer your shrimp to tank after they arrive, or need a net to transfer your shrimp to a new tank, then this is a great tool to have. This is, without exaggeration, the best shrimp net we have ever used! It is a very unique net as the bottom of it is rectangular and stays “rigid” (like a box) when you catch your shrimp as opposed to other nets that collapse in on the shrimp because they get narrower and narrower towards the bottom. It’s small head size makes it ideal for small tanks/containers, and its telescoping handle can reach tanks both small and large, tall or shallow. The rectangular shape makes it possible to even reach 90 degree corners in rectangular tanks. The netting material is very high quality and should last a long time, as opposed to some nets out there that have flimsy, thin netting.

Supershrimp Substrate (Black-Course/Pre-Washed) https://www.cerasumat.com/product/supershrimp-substrate-black-course/ Tue, 08 Jan 2019 21:45:38 +0000 https://www.cerasumat.com/?post_type=product&p=7103

2 cups of substrate fills a 10 x 6 inches rectangular tank or a 7 inch diameter round tank to a depth of about 1/2 inch to 3/4 of an inch. This is the recommended depth of your substrate.

This is a great black, inert substrate for your Supershrimp. The red colors will pop out on the black background. The substrate comes pre-washed, so you can just drop it into your tank immediately and fill it with water without having to go through the tedious step of washing and rinsing it.

As every tank is different in size, we sell the substrate by the volume (cups). For substrate purposes only the length and the width (or diameter if the tank is round) of the tank are important, hence you cannot buy substrate to fit your tank using “gallons” as a guide.

Red Lava Rocks (hand picked and rinsed) https://www.cerasumat.com/product/red-lava-rocks/ Fri, 17 Aug 2018 23:58:56 +0000 https://www.cerasumat.com/?post_type=product&p=6605 (Price is *per rock* unless you’re purchasing a “handful.”)

These rocks are safe, rinsed, and ready to go into your tank! Red lava rock looks great in Supershrimp tanks and provides lots of surface area for beneficial microorganisms and algae to grow. These help keep the water clean and provide food for your shrimp. Use the drop down menu above to pick the size you like. All items are hand-picked and unique. We offer four different sizes: large, medium, small, and handful. See picture for approximate sizes. The lava rocks in the picture are ordered by size from left to right. The pile of rocks in the front is a “handful.” One rock is placed outside the pile to show approximate size of each individual rock in the pile. “Handful” is literally a small handful of 10-12 lava rocks that range in size from 3/4 inch to about 1.5 inches. They are great for piling up in a corner or center of your tank for the shrimp to enjoy the nooks and crannies.

Keep in mind that the pictures were taken when the rocks were wet to give you an idea what the rocks will look like under water. When the rocks arrive they may be dry and the red not as deep as when wet. That’s normal and the rocks will look exactly as pictured when exposed to water.

Supershrimp Salt https://www.cerasumat.com/product/supershrimp-salt/ Sun, 05 Aug 2018 22:47:02 +0000 https://www.cerasumat.com/?post_type=product&p=6525 Pre-measured salt to set up Supershrimp tanks. Just choose your aquarium size from the drop down menu. No need to measure salinity ever again. Just add the salt to your RO (reverse osmosis) or distilled water, dissolve the salt by stirring it and you’re done. Then add the water to your tank/aquarium. If your tank is close to a whole number just get the amount you need for the closest whole number of gallons (for example if your tank is 2.2 gallons or 1.8 gallons, just get the 2 gallon size. If your tank is about 4.5 gallons, you can get either the 4 or 5 gallon size). The shrimp are very adaptable and don’t mind slightly higher or lower salinities.

Keep in mind that you CAN’T use normal table salt, “sea salt” (for human consumption) or “aquarium salt” in Supershrimp tanks. Your shrimp (and snails) will die.

Also, we recommend ordering twice the amount that is recommended for your tank size in case something goes wrong in the future and you need to do a large water change (otherwise no water changes are required or recommended for Supershrimp tanks).

Brackish Water Snails — 10 Pack https://www.cerasumat.com/product/brackish-water-snails-10-pack/ Fri, 23 Dec 2016 10:36:35 +0000 http://www.cerasumat.com/?post_type=product&p=2219 If you want some variety in your Supershrimp tank, these are the animals for you. These particular snails are brackish water populations of Tarebia granifera or Melanoides tuberculata (you will get either one or the other species, or a mix). They have been living in brackish water for generations. They are so adjusted to higher salinity conditions that they can even be used in reef setups at full ocean salinity. As these snails are livebearing, they will also reproduce in your tank, although they won’t become a problem at all if you do not overfeed the tank. 10 snails are appropriate for tanks 1/2 gallon and larger. We have these snails in all of our Supershrimp breeding tanks.
